Ha-ha-ha: Is it possible?

November 21, 2008

If a morning newspaper contains the headline Manmohan Singh and L.K.Advani were going to work together to improve our country. What will be possible outcomes?

  1. Each and every people who are reading the paper will call up the newspaper office and ask them from whom you got this rumour?
  2. There will be sudden rush in hospitals. As some light-hearted persons will surely get if not hard, a mild heart attack. Some may faint and fell down.
  3. News channels will interview their party workers how this was possible? As they will be in a confused state and they will run off if they see a journalist.
  4. That will be the talk of the nation. Some retired old people sitting in front of the tea shop reading the newspaper may say: “We are blessed enough to this before our death. We may have seen Tirupathi and so many temples. But this one a miracle. We will surely have a place in heaven.”
  5. They both will become the example for our younger generations. For the children who are fighting, parents may say, “Why are you both fighting? See our Prime Minister and opposition leader become friends.”
  6. We may tell to our grandsons and granddaughters about this miracle, as story.

You can add manymore shocks of this kind according to your imagination. I think the above stated reasons are enough to understand that why our ruling and opposition party leaders are not twoworking together for the nation. They are pretty much concerned about the health condition of our people. No citizen, in our country doesn’t have such large heart to absorb this kind of shocks.

So why am I blabbering about this now? After reading the news Obama, McCain pledge to work together on reform I couldn’t stop thinking about the above scenario. That is the kind of political enmity we are expecting here. After the competition they are sitting down, sharing their plans and discussing how they can improve their nation. No bitter feelings. People were able to see that their nation was in safe hands who consider everyone’s opinion.

But in our country within a party itself, there is no co-ordination. Each and every leader in a party has his set of own supporters. Leader of the party have only time to clear disputes within the party. Then when will he/she think about the problems in our country? If two leaders of opposite leaders meet together in a stage means it will be a much better sight for viewers like two heavyweights fighting against each other in a ring. In the parliament itself referee (Speaker) was not able to control them with the help of some security people.

Let our leaders seeing this must learn from them on how to treat an opposition leader or President and their opinions like they learned the globalization.

Kanagu: Why my friend? Is it a topic that doesn’t interests you?

    Nah! not possible…

Indian politics is all about revenge. If am in power i’ll bring out ur old deeds and vice versa…..

And to hope that they mature and move together towards betterment of idea is too far fetched….

kanagu: It’s hard to think about it now. But if we check the history all our leaders during 1940’s and 1950’s had a great respect for their rivals. But now they lost that culture of respecting each other. At first globalisation is also a concept which seemed a distant reality. Let us hope for the good 🙂

😀 😀 they just say this.. it is impossible. Our politicians never think of our country.. they think only about themselves..

kanagu: Yeah.. til they think politics as a business.. it’s not going happen.. We are not able to see a single light of hope 😦

@ Kanagu : In the US parties do not have much power as individuals do. It is easier for people to work with each other. In a parliamentary system a bit of rivalry is sort of necessary. You should watch a British parliamentary debate sometime to see how vile they can get with each other. We have our own system but yeah it can be sometimes nice that people work together with each other on issues of national importance. In any case I think on some major issues both the bigger parties work together even if its beneath the surface.

kanagu: We must take the best practices from all over the world for the welfare of the people. As long as something benefits to this country and people, they can do it instead of cheap politics.

Very true! and guess what here..the parties even risk lives of poor common men to prove that the ruling party isnt efficient!

kanagu: that is the real sad thing about our country where leaders are thinking only about gaining the power at any cost 😦

But partisanship is sometimes needed. Without it, the minority voice will be suppressed. Anyways, working together to solve a country’s problems is always a good thing.

kanagu: It holds good at sometimes.. when two brains work together means surely there will be a big change

  8. November 22, 2008 3:17 am

Not at all, Kanagu 🙂 It’s just that we have a crude form of democracy that refuses to evolve 😦 And I agree with Leafless. We do need partisanship in India.

kanagu: Sure Raj.. we are said to be living in a demacratic country but things are happening in that way.. It’s very disheartening.. Our politics need many good people to make it clean

they just say it…..but impossible 😛 …dont know how when where the change woudl come….

kanagu: don’t know.. not a single hope in me too.. I written this one out of frustration 😦

    Hi,

You have showed your eagerness and a great wish, that the two leaders (each from different party) will come together and work for the nation like U.S. But, i think it’ll only happen that you and me become opposite party leaders. Lets hope for the best.

kanagu: I think there is possibility that for our two leaders to work together than we both becoming the leaders 🙂 Hope for the good things
