Good one series – 3 (Mr.E.Sarath Babu)

             In the footsteps of Dr. Mallika Sarabhai, here is another person who brings hopes to us that this country will undergo a change. The change will be slow but we will survive, progress and develop. I have the hope. Not in literal meaning. But many youngsters were ready to come into what we called ‘dirty’ politics to clean it up. What they need from us is our extended support. This will inspire another set of young well-educated people to enter into politics and bring about the change that we are talking about in our blog samaj for a long time.

         The man who gives me, not only to me, to us, the hope was Mr. E. Sarath Babu. He is going to contest from South Chennai Loksabha Constituency. His qualification will for sure amaze us. He has done his engineering in BITS, Pilani and his MBA in IIM, Ahmadabad. Now he is running his own catering services named FOOD KING and has given employment to around 200 people.

      And if you know about his whole life you can assume he was right man for the job. Born in a very poor family were a 3 bogus of meal/day was a distant dream, he is now supplying food to many thru his catering services. The vision for their catering group says it all.

Our perspective to this field is to offer employment for the people of illiterate and semi-illiterate and bringing up their of standard of living and act as a platform in achieving their dreams.

Foodking focuses making employment to people as primary criteria and bringing up standard of life of people still illiterate.

        He was also selected as the Pepsi – MTV Youth icon for the year 2008. Its a no mean achievement as the previous winners were 2003 was Anil Ambani, for 2004 Rahul Dravid, for 2005 Shahrukh Khan, for 2006 M S Dhoni, for 2007 ORKUT. Read more about him below:

Sarath Babu with never say die attitude and hunger for the impossible who graduated from Birla Institute of Technologyand Science – BITS Pilani which is one among the top ranking universities in India today draws his inspiration from the quote “When you take up a mission with passion, there are no dreams too large, no innovation unimaginable and no frontiers beyond reach”.

Serving someone food is an extremely satisfying feeling. The smile you get after giving good food to someone is an experience to cherish. With seed money of Rs 2,000/-, his venture today is spread across several locations to the tune of Rs 9 crores and with the going strong is geared to double by the year-end. Through Food King he desires to give quality employment to the poor. In the next 5 years he wants Food King to be a source of employment for 50,000 people by opening 400-500 branches all over the country. For 28 year old Sarath, his mother, who once sold idlis on the pavements of Chennai and worked as an ayah, is a pillar of strength.

 

 What needs to be done now:

             Now he is contesting as an independent in South Chennai Lok Sabha Constituency. So the spread of word is the important thing. We have make the people to know that there is a person named Sarath Babu, he is contesting in our constituence and he is much more capable of doing the things than the political bigwigs.

           Friends, who are reading this, who are belong to South Chennai, please spread the word to your family and friends. And ask them to vote for him. It will be a first step towards a clean politics which we never witnessed until now.
