Day 1(Friday):

    The film starts with all the members getting into van and starting from Chennai by night 10. From the time the van started to move, we could sense that it’s going to be slow paced just like their van with lot of obstacles. The whole of the first half moves in the van itself. As the actors in the trip were choosing to watch the movies instead of interacting between themselves it reduces the fun factor of the film. In the next day morning even though everybody says that we will reach wayanad in 5 or 6 hours whenever asked and but there is always an inner feeling that they will travel for the whole day. And it happened. They are reaching by night 9 after a day’s travel. Phew!!! And driver by stopping the van at the places he wants, fits into the role of the villain perfectly.

    In this trip a thrilling incident happens…. As the travel seemed to be never ending, they all decide to get down at a picturesque place to take same photos. As that place has a river running through it balaji and Venkat decides to take a bath. Suddenly Sujai falls into it and Rajesh who don’t know swimming falls while trying to save Sujai. Now Meenu throws her shawl to save them. But instead of coming up by holding the shawl, they started to pull it down and made the situation worse. And now Balaji who was swimming at the middle came there and pushed both of them up and saved them.

    Due to this incident, another funny incident which is happened during the night was completely overshadowed. Kanagu started to sleep by 11:30 and never opened his eyes even for a second till the morning. In between the van has stopped for 3 or 4 times and also Venkat who sat beside him laughing by jumping out of the seat on watching Panchathantram movie. His laugh would have waked up the people who are travelling in the vehicles passing by but nothing bothered Kanagu.

   Even though they have travelled for a day, they travelled through the God’s own country and the views they have seen are picture perfect. The sides of the roads are green and also the houses built are individual ones and each one was unique in their own way. Thanks to the Nature art director God and the art director of houses Mason. This keeps up this film alive in an otherwise dull first half.

    In that afternoon, many of the members of this trip went to a non-veg hotel and hunted all kind of animals in the menu card. They didn’t order a food for one but a food from an animal which has given jitters to all the animals. Animals which are not in the menu card considered themselves as the lucky ones as the qualification for having is just to be in the menu card.

    After that energy sapping journey everybody goes to taste the kerala special Appam- kadala curry as their dinners and alongside some omlettes too went in. They have stayed in a house in a place called Sultan Bathery and started to sleep to keep themselves refreshed for the next day journey.

Day 2(Saturday):

    Next day starts with the beautiful mist all around the place and it is a pleasant thing to watch it from the balcony. Everybody was in a hurry to make the time that were lost in previous days travel. Before heading to the Edukkal caves, they are going to a nearby tea shop to have the traditional kerala Chaaya, kozha puttu and Kadala curry with Banana. Few liked it and few couldn’t adjust but everybody seemed to like Chaaya. After that small breakfast they started to move to the adventure part of the trip – Edukkal caves. You may ask is walking on a slope is an adventure… because all the members were software engineers whose highest physical activity is walking. So they had an uphill task before them and everybody successfully completed the mission without much fuss. They made that place into a photo shoot location by taking photos from all angles. Sujai an aspirant of the hero for the next Shankar made the maximum usage with his jerkin, blazers and the locations.

Edakkal caves:

Edakkal caves

    Then they moved to Kuruva islands believing that there is something special like beautiful seashores. Even we too believed that like that. But it is just a stream of waters running between the two lands. The water is just for knee level with rocks everywhere. Not a beautiful sight for a viewer. It’s a fun to watch everybody walking around cautiously. Especially bala and kanagu were giving comic moments by fearing a lot in that knee deep water. After that they went to the Island but now come the biggest comedy. They have buy tickets to roam around. But they have only 90 rupees. Everybody kept the money in the van itself concerning the safety. Each ticket is 10 rupees and they are short of 50 rupees. Now the person at the ticket counters greed to give half tickets everyone. After earning and spending thousands of rupees a month it’s a poor thing that they didn’t had 10 rupees. It’s really a touching scene which has given a lesson that it’s not about having lots of money but having at the right time. This scene for sure will bring tears out of the viewer’s eyes even though they will laugh at first. Then the members hiding their disappointments with their smile started to walk with the ‘half’ ticket. On walking though that they have found one of their company mates and got 200 rupees which helped them in having tea and snacks for evening. Then they have taken a nice bath in the water running beside.

Kuruva Islands:

In the afternoon, on the way to the Island they went to a petty shop to have lemon soda. In that shop, the shop owner, a lady, says something in Malayalam. As nobody knows Malayalam, they are asking Archana as she seems to be learning it for past few months and the reply from her was she is saying something. Hearing that everybody started to laugh and says that we ourselves know that. During lunch Venkat has started to have sambar rice but the server started to put fish curry in that. And he doesn’t know how to say that he doesn’t need that now but will have it afterwards. So he calls Baiju, only person knows Malayalam but he started to think what should be said. And it’s a classical comedy. Luckily server didn’t put fish curry.

    In the night once again the animal hunting has started in the name of dinner. But this time it is mainly chicken and fish as Sujai likes only chicken and Amit prefers to have Chicken. Whenever Balaji says that a fish is good it’s a danger sign for another fish as he orders ‘One more’. But Kanagu had no differentiations like that and had all the animals. After the dinner few of them started to play cards and slept after that relaxed day.

Day 3(Sunday):

   The film started to move faster from now as all of them have to reach the office by Monday morning and they started to worry about their return trip. After brain storming all the possibilities they started to take the route via Ooty to Chennai. They came via Palaghat, Kozhikode. But they also determined to see some places before leaving from there. So now they went to Wild life sanctuary in Muthunga. But there is not much animals when they went there. They have seen only deer’s, an elephant and peacocks. After a while they got bored as there is nothing to be photographed and started to take photograph of them – a pitiful thing in a Sanctuary. It’s a disappointing place for both the members of the trip and viewers and that is also the last place they are visiting in Wayanad. But just like a dialogue in OSO, “Everything gets better in the end, Happys endings. And if things not get better then that’s not the end. Picture abhi bi baaki hein.” They are in for a surprise place.

After returning from the sanctuary, they went to a hotel to have their breakfast. Again a Kerala special this time Paratha is added to it with Puttu. They reached the home, packed up their clothes and started to travel back to Chennai. As they reached a certain place in Ooty where there are a lot of trees(Pine or eucalyptus, I think so) which is a great place to take pictures. And they took.

   They went to pykara lake in Ooty and they enjoyed a lot. The dissatisfaction of the sanctuary has flown away as the climate too helps them in enjoying the place. As they reached the lake there is a slight drizzle and a cool breeze which everybody enjoyed a lot. And as expected lot of pictures were taken with all kind of backgrounds.  In the evening everybody had a hot tea and bhajji. They started to move towards Chennai after their last stop. And it’s all now down to the driver to make them reach office in time. And now he took the hero mantle and made sure that the people reaches the office in time.

  It’s not a film without minuses, but everything unfolds without anybody’s knowledge makes it interesting. And also there are moments which were worth remembering. Not much of wayand, it can be said as a long travel exercise to wayanad.

Some nice pictures:

    The name Wayanad comes from ‘Vayal’ and ‘Nadu’ which means the land of paddy fields. It’s really rich in nature with all those rolling hills and tropical rainforests. Edakkal caves are great too.

    kanagu: Welcome here Traveler… 🙂 🙂 thanks for the info 🙂 🙂
