Is it the end or the dawn of new tomorrow??

May 20, 2009

As the dust settled in Srilanka we will hope for a good, properous and dignified life for the Tamils under the regime of Mahinda Rajapakshe. But I doubt it. With the developments happened over the previous 2 years, makes my suspicion more. Because if that president had that much concern over his citizens he w+on’t allow+ed them to loss their lives. Remember Red cross has said that its a severe human catastrophe. He didn’t seen them as his country’s citizens. For him all the Tamils w+ere looked like Velupillai Prabhakaran. So they went through all kind of tortures. You may have read about it or not. Reading about them itself is a painful thing. Then you could assume w+hat is the amount of torture is.

Coming to Velupillai Prabhakaran’s death news, many will be happy and few will be sad over this. As I don’t know much about him I am neither happy nor sad. But thing you must not forget is, in any country no people w+ill follow+ a man and respect his w+ords blindly just because he is from their community and raising their voice for them, irrespective of how powerful he is. Just take our country. BJP is depicting that they w+ere fighting for the Hindus and Muslim leaugue w+as pretending that they are the only saviours for the muslims in this country. But are w+e believing them?? The answer will be ‘no’. Because w+e know+ that our nation is not for some religious fanatics. Same applies to every nation. They w+ill value their nation more than their community. So something terribly has happened there for them that made them to oppose their ow+n government and support a single man and follow him.

The w+ay he has developed his army w+ill tell you how much capability he had and his inspirational leadership. He was able to build an army and able to fight against a nation’s army is an incredible thing. That too they had ruled some parts of Srilanka and not many tamils opposed them as they do against Srilankan government. I am not saying whatever he has done is good or he is a great man. But still he had that capabilities of leader that made him to represent the face of the eelam tamil people. For me the biggest mistake he has done was killing the other Tami leaders who fought for the tamil people just because they are against him. He must have convinced them and made them to join with him. And then killing of our former PM Rajiv Gandhi made his movement into a terrorist organisation from rebel movement. And the way he broken from the peace talks organised by the Norway during Ranil Wickramasinghe brought no good to him. From then on, he fought for the losing cause.

He will go into some history books as terrorist who fought for the separate nation and killed many people in the process and ended up with nothing and as an unpatriotic guy who fought against his own country. As a rebel who fought with determination for the cause of his people in some. But in my view he had all the determination and courage but took wrong decisions at the right moments that lead to his downfall. In the process he let down lakhs of people who believed in him. Still I don’t believe that he is dead. The photos and videos shown by them are not believeable. But thats what Srilankan army has said about him.

Now their President has promoised that they will consider everybody equally and there wil be no minority tags for the tamil people. If that happens means, that will make the souls which are lost in the  process of getting a separate land for tamil people to rest in peace. Even though they didn’t achieved their dream, atleast they can be happy that their people were living in peace in their country.

One thing nobody has to forget is, in any day you can’t supress any section of people just because they are weaker or minority. Not everyone will shut their mouth and follow your order. Somebody will raise their voice against that, in the process will destroy the whole of  the power which tries to suppress them.

I also read this today morning… and dont know what to conclude…

I guess the fight or struggle for the tamil rights will now ensue… whether they get equal status or not will determine whether Sri Lanka actually won the war with terror or was this the end …!

kanagu: Right said Dhiren Bhai… Every human has equal rights in this world to live.. sad that it’s with somebody to give right to them 😦

  2. May 20, 2009 12:38 pm

Kanagu, I think you’ve made a wonderful point in the last para..You can’t suppress any section of society and expect peace.. Lets hope that the Sri Lankan govt really means what it says.. As for where the Eelam movement will go from here… I have no idea.. Lets just wait and watch and hope for the best..

    kanagu: Thanks Smitha 🙂
Eelam movement is purged now.. so way it will function with full force and many don’t like that.. now it’s down to Srilankan govt. on treating everybody in equal manner.

    Kanagu,

You cannot trust the filthy Rajapaksa criminals and the lowly scum beings who back them. These criminals have murdered 30,000 civilians in this year alone with WHITE PHOSPHORUS and CLUSTER BOMBS, besides committing horrendous war crimes, genocide and confining civilians to CONCENTRATION CAMPS.

This is not a problem about the terror of the LTTE, the root cause is the SinHELLa state terror which will never end – it will only get worse. For all the brain-dead idiots and lowly scum beings, it’s about the LTTE, which it is NOT. The Lankan conflict did not begin with the LTTE, it goes back to much before that and it will not end with the LTTE. It’s a problem of SinHELLa state terrorism, backed by all the lowly scum beings in the world.

As for the fools who believe that Lankan Tamils will now be silenced after the genocide, let them dream on. The fight will go on till they achieve justice with peace, like what Dr. Brian Seneviratne said. LTTE or no LTTE, the fight will go on until they achieve justice, which given Sinhala fascism, may not be possible. So the fight will be carried on till its only logical conclusion – A FREE TAMIL EELAM!

As for the LTTE, they were the most efficient, most courageous, most disciplined (and most ruthless) guerrilla force in world history and Velupillai Prabakaran ranks alongside the other fabulous rebels in world history like Ernesto “Che” Guevara. Velupillai Prabakaran is certainly not dead, the video released by the SinHELLa scum army is self revealing. In any case, there can be no “death” for rebels like Guevara and Prabakaran. Long after ordinary mortals are confined to a mere footnote in history and long after filthy scum beings like the Rajapaksa goons are tried and punished for their genocidal crimes against humanity and punished and confined to the sewers of history, the spirit of glorious rebels who courageously stood up and fought against injustice will live on forever!

Also, it was not the LTTE, but the Rajapaksa rogues who tore up the Norwegian brokered ceasefire and branded the Norwegians as “terrorists”. You are unaware of the extent of pseudo-Buddhist SinHELLa fascsism, it’s the world’s worst case of barbaric extremism that hates not just the Lankan Tamils, but also anyone in the world who dares to speak out against it, even if they happen to be Sinhalese by ethnicity. That’s why so many decent Sinhalese have been butchered and silenced by the filthy SinHELLa state terrorists.

kanagu: True Raj.. but every problem must have a solution and I wish the tamil eelam peopel gets their rights soon.

While what you say is true of decent people, but you seem to be unaware of the extent of the presence of lowly scum beings in the world – these creatures would go to any extent to support other filthy beings like them.

    kanagu: 😦

Kanagu, pseudo-Buddhist SinHELLa fascism is not the same as the fanaticism of the BJP and their backers and SinHELLa Lanka is not the same as India. The truth is that, thanks to pseudo-Buddhist Sinhala fascsim, Sri Lanka ceased to be a single country long ago – for all practical purposes, the divide between Tamil Eelam and SinHELLa Lanka has become too deep and it cannot be bridged at all, thanks to the fascism of the SinHELLa government, clear from their genocidal actions of using chemical weapons and cluster munitions against their own civilians. The dumb idiots in the international community who did nothing to stop the war crimes of the SinHELLa state terroritsts and the filthy scum beings who backed the Rajapaksa rogues will realise their folly quite soon. That is when the struggle will assume new proportions and the struggle will be carried to its logical conclusion and the only possible solution to this – A FREE TAMIL EELAM and a Sinhala Lanka co-existing on the island of Ceylon.

kanagu: But a separate Eelam will not be formed Raj.. there are a lot of complexities in it.. all we can hope is a peaceful living for Tamils there

  6. May 20, 2009 4:47 pm

Kanagu, I agree with you that there will be no peace in Sri Lanka…The Tamil rebellion for their own homeland will continue…Prabhakaran became a terrorist in my mind when he started killing innocents and using child soldiers – that’s an absolute no-no…

kanagu: He has done that.. that can’t be justified.. but if you see the other side it’s not greener either… where will you see a country killing their own citizens just because they are belong to other ethnic.. 😦

  7. May 20, 2009 7:27 pm

I not know what to say…….
i am happy that the guns have stopped firing and people can rebuild their lives!!!! but i atill dont think that this is the end

kanagu: Its not the end.. only when the tamil people live in peace.. the end will come..

  8. May 21, 2009 12:13 am

@ kanagu : I think Sri Lanka will act in their own national interest and make sure that they do not repeat their mistakes.

me: I am also hoping so..

As for the end of Parbhakaran, I am sure many people would be sad but at the same time he was a wanted man in this country. It would have been better if he would have been brought to justice here. He not only committed crimes against Sri Lanka and India but also against the people of his own community by extinguishing all political diversity among Tamils in Lanka as well as being the leader of a system that abused women and children. I think that island has finally gotten rid of a terrible scourge of 30 years. I hope now there will be peace and prosperity and both tamils and sinhalese will live together in one country.

me: The point why the tamil people followed him is, he is better than the Srilankan government. I am not saying whatever he has done was right… but he is better than their rulers… if he must be bring in front of justice means where the Mahinda Rajapakshe and Sarath Fonseka has done.. Killed innocent people in the name of military attack. unacceptable

  9. May 21, 2009 12:17 am

this whole issue is very ugly, downright disturbing…there must be strong reasons for this to occur n only time will sort out most things….i really pray that the Tamils get their rights in the true sense of the word…otherwise a new ‘terrorist’ organisation will build itself…n the ugly cycle would continue 😦

me: Right Vinnie.. this will continue until some Tamils get equal rights there… hope Srilankan govt handles this situation sensible and not tries to suppress them.

who pays for all the lost lives n the battered economy?? it is very sad n i am at a loss ..i have been watching the same news on all channels n was wondering at who exactly is the ‘terrorist’ here – the one who fights for equality for his ppl n kills anyone who he cannot convince or the one who suppresses him at all n any costs n is ruling a nation comprising of dead / maimed/ sick ppl

kanagu: Rightly asked Vinnie.. I don’t have answer for this… but both of them have done undeniable criminal offence.. hope they will be punished for their sins

WHY does ethnicity / race / religion matter so much? n we call oursleves ‘civilised’! Animals r far better da..

kanagu: Yes Vinnie.. time and again they proved that.. they are better

  10. May 21, 2009 3:14 am

All I can say here is that ‘One Man’s Terrorist Is Another Man’s Freedom Fighter’.

I am never going to support any community if they resort to suicide bombings. This tit for tat never ends.

kanagu: Solilo.. you can’t oppose a whole community just because the man who represent them is a sinner.. then you will hate lot of people in this world… as many of the leaders are corrupted

  11. May 21, 2009 8:41 am

i like ur last paragraph.. GOOD ONE.

The only enemy for indian is another indian.

    kanagu: Thanks Viji 🙂
But I won’t accept your views… they belong to Srilanka

  12. May 21, 2009 9:53 am

    SIGH!!! 😦

    kanagu: 😦

  13. May 21, 2009 11:18 am

Kanagu I have no idea what to write..All I know is that violence begets more violence…
no matter what the cause..violence is NEVER an answer…
its a vicious circle of killing and being killed 😦

kanagu: But they have chosen violence after their peace movements are failed Indyeah… They believed this is better than non-violence… but killing a life is a punishable crime but thats what happens with violence 😦

  14. May 22, 2009 9:27 am

Till now this is my favorite post on your blog. I have been watching the news and feeling unsure, I was not too clear about what was happening but this brilliantly written post is informative. I also think his cause became terrorism when he started using children as soldiers and killing innocent people (including Rajiv Gandhi).

kanagu: Thanks IHM.. I am really happy 🙂
But we can’t add Rajiv Gandhi in Innocent people list.. because he made a blunder by sending army to fight against LTTE when they were fighting for their rights which is highly unacceptable.. I am not supporting the LTTE act… but he has done a big mistake 😐

I loved your last paragraph Kanagu, you have expressed it beautifully!
One thing nobody has to forget is, in any day you can’t supress any section of people just because they are weaker or minority. Not everyone will shut their mouth and follow your order. Somebody will raise their voice against that, in the process will destroy the whole of the power which tries to suppress them.

Very, very well written and timely post.

    kanagu: Thanks again, IHM 🙂

It’s really tough to judge either side by what has happened. I am sure both of them did huge mistakes and paid for them dearly. Back then, emperor Asoka denounced wars because of Buddhism and its principles. Some times I feel that we are moving backward to the stone ages.

    Destination Infinity

kanagu: Yes DI.. we are moving backwards with highly destructive arms.. 😦

  16. May 30, 2009 12:36 am

I think killing innocent people who have nothing to do with your cause and have nothing to do with the government which suppressed you is a crime.
The means which LTTE used were as bad as the means the government used to suppress them. There was no difference between the two. And in the end, thousands of innocent people died.
