Training Tales

July 9, 2009

This is the day 2 years before, I have joined my company. We had to attend the training for 4 months and we have been asked to join in Bangalore. There are always the frightening talks like the 4 months ahead of you are one of the toughest and everbody has said that you have to study but not like how you have done in the college days. So with the mixed reaction of excitement and fear we landed there. We have now left the comfort of our house, has to compete against each other in workplace instead of enjoying each other’s presence and success just like in college.

I have started by July 7 from Chennai in Brindhavan express along with my father and my college friends to Bangalore. Many of my friends came to send off me. And there are also many a calls before leaving. After getting into train, we had a little chat with everybody and then went to sleep. By morning 5, we have reached the Bangalore station and we got a taxi to reach our company. By 6 we reached there and many were flocking in there like us. We have shown our offer letters and we are allowed to move in. We have took one of the longest routes to reach the Hostel. There they have allotted us the rooms in the ground floor and all we have done on entering is, just lie flat on bed and had a nice nap before brushing and went to have breakfast by 10 within the campus. It had given us a glimpse of the campus.

And the D-day has came… July 9. We have got ready by 7:30 for the first session at 9.A.M. We had enough time to take breakfast and after having it entered into the auditorium. Its really really a big one which was able to accomodate 180 people at a time. So except the 5 friends from my college everybody were unknown and its like lost in the crowd. So after everybody settled down Professors from education department made a welcome speech at all of us and also said that our real training will start from next monday. I am glad to hear that. We have got introduced to our batch owners and got a brief history about company and its policies. After a tiring and boring session, we went to have lunch.

After the lunch we have been provided with ATM cards and for the first time in my life, I have seen it. We have also got verified with our certificates and with this the day has completed. In between some introductions with some of the people in the auditorium has happened. I never thought that the way the training period will turn out. I really enjoyed each and every moment of it and also got a chance to meet people with wide range of characters. As we are just out from the college we had the same mentality and also tests they conducted made sure that we are still students. So we can rock. And we did as we are just the kids.

Everytime some friends called me during the training days, they ask, “How are you doing?”

My answer was always, “I am enjoying”

Yes it’s true… I enjoyed it much with late night chats, cricket, table tennis and basket ball… and with little bit of studying before the day of exams.. Its full of sweet memories of 4 months and I love to write about them to re-live it.
