The Matrix –  & Sequels –
Rewind the clock a 10 years back, Two men has shown visionary as great as the Avatar creator James Cameron. They are none other than the Wachowski brothers. They have created a world which many can’t imagine or understand and presented it in a simpler way (that’s the way they would have thought). Actually a human’s thought can’t get crazier than this – turning the world we live in as a computer program and its being ruled by machines. This films goes into lot of categories: action, sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, philosophical… Its a mixture of all.
Anderson lives the life of a secret hacker called Neo and he tries to know about the Matrix. He was being followed by Trinity and her group sent by Morpheus and also by a set of Agents. When Morpheus offers Neo the truth about the world he lived in he gets agitated and couldn’t take it as he says that the world he lived in was just a program called matrix and it is ran by machines. But the reality strikes him when Morpheus shows him the things and also explains their motive to end the war between the man and the machine.
Morpheus believes the prophecy of the Oracle who says that Neo was ‘the One’ who can end the war. But Neo refuses to believe it and make him one among them in the fight against machines. The film then tells how the love blossoms between Trinity and Neo and also whether Neo was the One???
The film draws a jigsaw puzzle between the computer generated Matrix and the real world. It also takes on lot of philosophical things like what is reality? And blended everything to perfection to give a near-perfect enjoyable film. The film was shot in a stylish manner and it’s stunts are one-of-a-kind. One of the most stylishly choreographed stunts. They made it look so cool.Keanu Reeves is absolutely cool in this movie. Perfect hero. Only thing I didn’t liked about the film is its ending, which left me a little confused.
But the real problem is understanding this movie. When I have first seen it on 2006, I didn’t had a clue on whats happening and all could remember was Reeves was the one. It took a lot of film viewing to understand the basic of the story. Only when I have seen it 2 weeks before, I was able to appreciate it.
The Matrix (Trailer):
By 2003, in came the sequels to the Matrix. Just like Kill Bill, we have to watch both the sequels of the matrix to end it. The problems of the Matrix creeps up in the second installment ‘The Matrix Reloaded’ as the film tries to expand its territory which moves out from the hovercraft Nebuchadnezzar (Morpheus and team’s) to the zion mainframe, many such hovercrafts joins them to fight the Machines, many people around to focus on, even in the matrix there are lot of villains other than the agents. Even in this mess, the Wachowski’s delivered the winner with putting up a notch above in the way the action scenes are choreographed and the maintaining of the suspense of whether the Trinity will die or not. There is lot of heroism involving Neo but they are understandable. Actually I love heroism. Only thing is they could have reduced the length the fight sequences as it gets tiring, at times.
The matrix Reloaded(Trailer):
The real blow came in the ‘Matrix Revolutions’ which really suffers from the lack of plot and the heavily burdened action scenes. Even the action scenes are not that well choreographed in this film and its just the curiosity of how its going to end kept me watching it and seriously I didn’t understood the ending of Agent Smith.
The Matrix Revolutions(Trailer):
As a single film, the matrix is a stand-out one. But as a trilogy it’s just average. I recommend watching the first 2 films and leaving the third one as it just spoils the good things of the other 2 movies.
Matrix – Style Re-defined.
