Tale of Hanging on, Focussed man, Missed Companion and some more….
Hanging on:
Yes… Indians have successfully held themselves and made no harm to their No. 1 ranking by beating South Africans. But what drama it has provided. I am really tensed in the office. Checking the score in my mobile all the way to office and then sitting restlessly watching the updates in cricinfo. I have seen in the first innings that Morkel and Parnell were more than good enough to be tail-enders. They had the technique to negotiate the bowlers when there is nothing in pitch. And it took morning conditions, Zaheer’s impeccable swing to break their partnership in first innings.
But now they both have played separately, not a morning session, no Zaheer and no help from pitch. So Indian bowlers had to find something special get them out and I am glad that they found. With each and every passing over, the defense seemed to be stronger and all the aces thrown down by Dhoni was blocked by dead bat. Even the inspired move of making Sachin bowl made Morkel unmoved.
And when it seemed like SA going to draw this… India’s best bet Harbhajan came… kept the men around the bat… bowled that delivery which pitched in middle stump… straightened a bit… Morkel prodding in front… a half-stride… ball hits the pad… Harbhajan back-pedals with the appeal… Indian players got excited and appealing… crowd joins them… just a thought… Ian Gould raises his finger… last nail nailed in coffin.
But there is one man stood there and didn’t joined the celebrations along with Morkel…
Focussed man:
Hasim Amla… No.3 of South Africa and rightly so. He stood like a monk under the helmet. Rock may get shy by looking at him. I think if he keeps bat and pad together even the water may find it difficult to go through. Nothing bothered him. Not a bouncer, not a length delivery, not an off-break, not a top spinner, not a doosra, not a leg-break, not a googly and certainly not a bowler. After batting more than a day, he didn’t shown a single sign of tiredness… dehydration… to be precise he has shown nothing. This is the innings which should really be termed as CHANCELESS… oh sorry… that too is not true… NO CHANCE at all. At least for him, SA should have drawn this match….
Missed Companion:
Two days before, Me and Mr.VK were chatting in person in office… He had some rashes in face.
Me: What are those rashes in the faces??
He: I went to Kerala. From that time, it’s like that.
Me: I too went there… but didn’t picked up that..
He: Kerala.. when you have went??
Me: Feb 7th. You?
He: Me too…
Me: 🙄 🙄 In Kerala, where??
He: Guruvayur… You??
Me: Thrissur…
He: We got down at thrissur only… Train By which time??
Me: 9:15
He: 😯 NAME????
Me: Dei.. there is only one train at that time… Allepy express.. 😦 😦
Oh god… How I missed my friend in that journey… psst… psst…
Fun @ office:
Bowling is introduced in my office an year ago… But I never shown a great interest in it… not a nature of me. But last 2 weeks I have played it few times and I loved it. Quite a fun if we have friends around as any number people can play it at a time. Still not able to get to know all the rules but then who cares… its fun…
A nearest destination:
Odyssey has opened a shop inside my office this week and now there is no need to run around to Landmark or Higginbothams by weekends. Even though the collection is little, they have kept enough from Books, toys, gifts, cards to Stationeries which will come really handy. But browsing experience won’t be there though. Another added thing everything comes at a 10% discount. And I started my purchase with the book ‘Zero Percentile’. 🙂 🙂

And at last a week before no. of shows/day is reduced from 8 to 4 in Sathyam Cinemas. Still it’s running to packed houses. I have decided to watch this film in theatre once/month till it runs in Chennai. I have never seen an English film running like this in Chennai. Some films ran for 50 days but by that time they will be given 1 show only. This is extraordinary. Magic. I have seen 175 days memento of ‘Speed’ in Devi theatre but I found it hard to believe… Now I am believing it. A good film can do anything.

Oh my god Kanagu I just came back after seeing Avtar for the first time… I am sure something is seriously wrong with me. I didn’t like the damn movie…it’s so cliched and blah blah except for some technical wonders 😥

I tried bowling twice or thrice with my son! I liked it! My friend’s daughter was with me and both of them compelled me to play and I enjoyed, really!
