As I Pass by – 29/07/10

Another year passed:

It’s been 3 years since I have joined in my company. Its my first job too. Quite an unbelievable thing for me. Never ever thought I will get a job while studying and I just didn’t imagined somebody will pay me for the work I do. But all is well in these years. Sometimes the thought will come up that I am not belonged to be here. But where I am belonged to? A question that needs to be answered before I can click the resignation button here (Yeah its just a click away here 😀 😀 ) because hundreds of things comes to my mind.

Its my friends during my training days and my teammates these days who makes me comfortable in this weird world of codes. Else I would have written a long posts every week on how boring my work is 😀 Thanks to them.

Some minutes in a Gym:

Just remembered an incident while I was in my training days which I didn’t shared during my series of training days post.

One fine evening, I guess it was Friday, to celebrate the start of the weekend we (I think 4 of us went there) went straight to our office’s health club and got a day’s pass to access all the facilities which includes swimming pool, Jacuzzi, some herbal bath and gym. We jumped into swimming pool and whoever knew swimming swam and the dumbos like me walked the entire perimeter of the pool as many times as possible. All my friends’ magnanimous efforts to make me float went fruitless as I kept going under water even after pushing the water as much as possible. Their hope vanished and mine too after I kept drowning for some time. It took a good 1 hour. Then we went to Jacuzzi and spent some 30 mins or so there. It is kind of funny to describe it.

We came out and have seen that the time is 8.00 PM. We dressed up soon as the gym will be closed by 9:00. I never ever went to a gym in my life. If you think that out of curiosity I decided to go there, then all I can say is its wrong. The reason is we didn’t want to waste the money. There we went inside. Some ran on the treadmills, some doing weird exercises and we queued up in the line for treadmill. Suddenly the trainer came running towards us.

“What are you going to do?”

“Exercise”

He has given a good look at me from top to bottom and asked, “Where are the shoes?”

“Is that needed?”

A stern look from him. No words were spoken after that. I marched out of gym whispering to my friend, “Romba overa than da pesuran”. (He is talking too much 😛 :P)

Smiling Assassin’s Time is up:

And at last, the last flag bearer of the quality spin bowling hung up his boots from the truest form of cricket. A real sad day not only for Srilankan fans but also to cricket fans. Its such a joy to watch him. A very measured run-up, the tossing of the ball in air and then that magical hands which releases the ball kept the batsmen and everybody guessing which way it will turn till the last ball bowled by him in cricket.

His records can’t be matched by anybody in bowling. 800 WICKETS in test cricket!!!! Nobody gonna dream about that. A real match winner for Srilanka. He is the only solution Srilankan captains had for all the questions thrown by opposition batsmen and that solution worked very well. But we can see him in ODIs and T20s which is a blessing. His legend was summed up by Sangakkara very well.

I am not going to look around for another Muralidharan. Because there ain’t any
